I figure I might as well start a tradition or something here. Basically this is a heads up to the few of you that have stuck around with me this long, and deserve a little information on what I have been up to, and we're I'm taking this game.

First off, I wrote this game as a vehicle for a story I had been trying to write for some time. As such, I started enforcing the naming policy and other things to keep the game in line with that vision. The options for roleplaying and enhancing the story I'm writing will only grow. Secondly, although I wrote a story, and have a bit of the universe in my notes, I'm open to ideas and suggestions and am giving everyone an opportunity to make my story theirs. If I like what you're saying, and it doesn't contradict what I already have, I may choose to make it canon.

Secondly, we're in a bit of a beta phase right now. I know I promised not to do that to you, but because I'm apparently a terrible tester, several game breaking bugs were introduced in this code push. I will be working to get some dedicated testers and break things in better next time. This round is scheduled to last until July 1st, at which point I will have most of the major features done, tested and installed. The next piece of the puzzle is the alliance management system, which should be online tonight. Next up after that is finalizing banking, and then I begin work on sabotage. Sabotage will be severely limited, due to human nature. While in a real war, sabotage would be a vital tactic, we're playing a game, and for some reason, sabotage triggers the "Its not fair!" response in a lot of people.

On the topic of new features, I am still looking for help with single player. If you have any previous experience with creating a psuedo-AI, I can give you what I want and what variables to expect. A working version is worth $500, so if you need cash, contact me!

Thirdly, I will begin advertising the game July 1st. A lot. Expect an influx of new users, since I am not new to drumming up interest in the game. With the money pouring OUT of my bank account, I will be installing a "Premium Account" feature.

Premium accounts are $20 a year for additional features. Proposed features include a method for setting up your army so on attacking and defending, the smallest unit is selected for the action. This will reduce weapon damage (yes, its coming back), and unit losses. Premium Accounts will have more single player missions with more rewards. I am aiming on making Free Accounts perfectly viable, but the Premium Account being full of bonuses. Premium Accounts will also have additional community features, and have a reduced price on alliance webhosting.

My overall goal here is to increase the number of people playing, and get a real community going. It would be awesome if you could pitch in, tell friends, and try to help out in this regard. To that end, I am interested in getting a few online game nights going, so we can play outside CoC. I don't want this just to be about a game, I want something to get people interested in and that they can feel a part of.
